Conference on Access to Health in Mozambique

The health system plays a fundamental role in the sustainable and inclusive functioning and development of the entire society. However, this scenario is only possible when the uninterrupted quality of health services is guaranteed and, naturally, when access to these services is safeguarded for the entire society, without exceptions (WHO, 2019).

OBJECTIVES

Main objective:

• Reflect on health sector financing and its impact on access, quality of care and guaranteeing the right to health in Mozambique.

 

Specific objectives:

• To present three surveys developed by member organizations of the Alliance for Health (medicusmundi, Observatório Cidadão para Saúde and NAMATI Moçambique) and to promote public debate on the dynamics of financing the health sector;

* Financing of the health sector and its impact on access to health services;

* User fees and their impact on access to health services;

* Data from the National Campaign to respect privacy in units.

 

• Discuss barriers to access to healthcare and their impact on the quality of service provision in Mozambique;

• Design and propose strategies and follow-up actions to improve access to health services at national level, with a focus on improving financing.
