First Annual Review, Coordination and Planning Meeting of the Alliance for Health

On 13 March 2024, took place at the NAMATI facilities in Maputo the “First Annual Review, Coordination and Planning Meeting of the Alliance for Health”, with the participation of the following members: NAMATI, ADEMO, MISA-Mozambique, ACEA, Kutenga, Wakulela, medicusmundi and some individual members.

The objectives of this expanded meeting, which had a hybrid participation format (in-person and online), were the following: to present the Balance of activities for the year 2023; introduce new members; prepare the Alliance for Health Work Plan 2024 (brainstorming); update participants about the “More Privacy in Health Units” campaign; provide an update on the participation of 2 ApS representatives in the April meeting of the People's Health Movement in Argentina (Executive Director of the Citizen Health Observatory and ApS Coordinator); and, show 2 episodes produced within the scope of the “Activa-te” campaign (Provision of Gender Violence Services and Positive Masculinities).

At this same meeting, NAMATI and medicusmundi were scheduled to report on the joint actions planned for the province of Cabo Delgado, but it was agreed to return to this topic at the next coordination meeting, on March 20, 2024, for a better alignment of approaches.

The meeting also served to redefine new topics and work plans in the areas of research, advocacy, communication and training, and to address other aspects of network coordination.

This meeting was led by the coordinator of the Alliance for Health, Violeta Bila, with the technical and logistical support of NAMATI, and the financial support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), within the scope of the AECID Agreement 22-CO1-398 “Improving the quality, coverage and resilience of the Cabo Delgado health system”, implemented by medicusmundi, between January 2023 and December 2026.
