2nd Hearing in the Central Region on the Proposed Law against Obstetric Violence in Mozambique
It took place, on September 28th, 2023, the 2nd Hearing in the Central Region on the Proposed Law against Obstetric Violence in Mozambique.
The event took place in the city of Beira and was coordinated by Aliança para a Saúde, with the support of PLASOC Sofala, led by Rui Semente. The consultation was conducted by the coordinator of the Aliança para a Saúde network, Violeta Bila, and Judge Vitalina Papadakis.
The event, which falls within the scope of the HUMANIZA MOZ Campaign, was attended by 48 participants from state and non-state organizations, and had the following objectives:
• Present the entry points and elements to be incorporated into the proposed law, based on an analysis of the gaps and opportunities in current legislation on obstetric humanization;
• Socialize, debate and consult key actors on a proposed law that penalizes obstetric violence in the central region of the country;
• Collect and systematize the sensitivity, opinions, and contributions of key actors in relation to the proposal presented.
This activity received financing and technical support from the Potenciar-UKAID program, technical support from the Alliance for Health, in partnership with PLASOC Sofala.
